The Descendants of

Jeremiah Vallet Sr.

Jeremiah Vallet Sr. was a successful sea captain and made a number of long voyages. On one of these trips he was gone several years. On his return he found that his wife had given him up for dead and remarried. He, the new husband and appropriate officials sat down and decided how to resolve this state of affairs amicably. Jeremiah ended up with the homestead in the North Parish of New London, Connecticut, which later became the town of Montville. He settled down and became a successful farmer. Another interesting side light is that he had two sons named Jeremiah. They both lived but turned out quite differently.

All of the material from Baker’s History of Montville on this family is included. Corrections based on new research are made. In addition, the female lines are followed and biographical material is added. Detailed source references are given, often to primary records. There are indexes of people and places. The book is bound in soft-cover and is printed on acid-free paper. The book contains 13 pages.
