The Descendants of
Thomas Wells & Frances Albright
Frances Albright was born and married in England. She settled first in Wethersfield, Connecticut, with her three sons. Many previous compilers, including Henry R. Stiles in his History of Ancient Wethersfield, identified her as the wife of Hugh Wells. However, in 1952 Donald Lines Jacobus and W. Herbert Wood published and article in The American Genealogist, volume 28, in which they showed that she was the widow of Thomas Wells Sr. and that later she married Thomas Coleman. Thomas Coleman was among the early settlers of Wethersfield, Connecticut. He had four children (John Esther, Sarah and Noah) by his first wife. Around 1645 Frances Albright married Thomas Coleman. In 1660 they removed to Massachusetts and were among the first settlers of Hadley. Thomas and Frances both died in Hadley. Only brief genealogies of the first few generations of Thomas Wells Sr. and Frances Albright have been published. This new genealogy contains information of the first fifteen generations, including the female lines of descent. Biographical information is included. Full page color photographs as shown. Published in four volumes the genealogy contains over 1,800 pages and 12,000 descendants. It is indexed by people and places. The book is bound in soft-cover and is printed on acid-free paper.
