William Beardsley  &  Mary Harvey

 

 

William Beardsley and his wife Mary Harvey were natives of England and were married there. They were members of the church of the Reverend Adam Blackman. Together with his congregation they emigrated on the good ship Planter.  They resided briefly in Massachusetts before removing to Connecticut. They became the founders of Stratford, Connecticut in 1639. William is thought to have originally come from Stratford-on-Avon in England and may have been responsible for  naming the town Stratford, Connecticut.

In addition to the usual genealogical details, this book contains extensive biographical material and many sources are to primary records. It  is bound in soft cover and contains 111 pages plus 23 photographs.

This genealogy contains the information on the first four generations, including the names and dates of generation five. Research is underway to extend this genealogy to the present day.
