John Beach & His Wife Mary
John Beach was born around 1619 in England. He, along with his brothers Richard and Thomas, arrived in America around 1639. They resided first in New Haven, Connecticut. John removed to Stratford, Connecticut, in 1652. He was also an original proprietor of Wallingford but kept his residence in Stratford. John Beach was selected as Town Crier. He and his wife Mary raised a family of ten children. Within six generations their descendants numbered over 2,300. In addition to the usual genealogical details, this book contains extensive biographical material and many sources are to primary records. There are several portraits and many epitaphs. It is indexed by people and by place. The book is bound in soft cover and contains 381 pages plus 87 color photographs of tombstones. This genealogy contains the information on the first five generations, including the names and dates of generation six. Female lines of descent are included. Research is underway to extend this genealogy to the present day.
