The Descendants of

John Curtis (1577–1639) & Elizabeth Hutchins (1592–1658)

Volume 3

Volume 3 contains generation seven of the descendants of John Curtis and Elizabeth Hutchins. Their offspring, generation eight, are listed in the usual format. Extensive research in cemeteries and town records has made possible the correction of many errors in older genealogies and the addition of previously unrecorded family members.

Due to the large families common in this and previous generations, the members of the seventh generation span many decades. A few men in fought in the Revolutionary War, while others in the same generation fought in the Civil War. The movement westward increased greatly. Some people in the seventh and eighth generations traveled to the Midwestern states of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin. A few made it to California by land or by sea and participated in the gold rush.

There are 1,361 pages in this volume which includes 122 figures with 377 color photographs of tombstones. Approximately 10,000 more descendants are added to the family, which brings the total number of recorded descendants through the eighth generation to over 20,000.

Style and numbering continues from Volumes 1 and 2.  The book is bound in hardcover and is printed on acid-free paper.
